His Love is Not Performance-Based

Understand that before Jesus ever raised anyone from the dead or healed the sick, His relationship with God the Father was affirmed and it brought the Father great joy. That’s the same with us. Before we go off and accomplish some great task, or save the world, God is already smiling on us. Not because of anything we’ve done but because of who we are to Him. We are His daughters through Jesus.

One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River. As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” Mark 1:9-11 (NLT)

Dear Father,
I receive today, in this very moment, where You have placed me in You. Help me to receive what You have freely given me. I choose not to try to earn my standing in You or give it up because of feelings of unworthiness. I am Your daughter in Christ and You love me, not because of anything I’ve done but just because You do. I receive Your love. In Jesus Name, Amen.
