Whether on a job or amongst friends, we can find ourselves feeling out of place. Be comforted, because God, at times, purposefully places his children in uncomfortable situations to bring His name glory. In the book of Daniel (chapter 3) we find three men of God who were willing to live outside the “norm” to honor Him. Their choice to endure the fire caused a heartless, stubborn king to acknowledge the power of God. Is God positioning you, so that people find Him, through you? Remember, we are not the savior of the world, but God’s Spirit in us is what produces fruit. Simply praying for, or with that co-worker across from you can change lives. Sharing a kind word or simply choosing to live a life that glorifies God, despite being in an environment that does otherwise, can be a powerful testimony for those around you. God has an assignment for His children. Mathew 5:14 explains, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid [KJV].” To be the light, you may find yourself surrounded in darkness. Such situations are not only opportunities to witness to others, but a way for God to strengthen our own faith in Him. Before bolting for the door, be encouraged to seek God regarding your situation. Count yourself blessed if He releases you from it. Count yourself blessed if He does not; you’re on assignment.
“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world.” John15:19 (NIV)
Help me to see through your eyes today. Lead me in recognizing the broken, the hurt and anyone you have put in my path to help. Give me the strength to serve you, despite any pressure to do otherwise. I open my heart to fully receive your Holy Spirit whom strengthens my ability to witness to others without fear or shame. Help me to clearly hear your voice in every decision I make. I affirm that I am your child and I will go where you tell me to go and stay where you tell me to stay. I put my trust in you Lord. I am fully submitted to you and my steps are ordered by your Word.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
